The Election of Intellect vs. Ignorance

Imagine, for a moment, that one of the Presidential candidates could take away your rights. Hillary Clinton has never said she would take away people’s guns. She said safer regulations. Want to argue about safer regulations? She is pro-choice, meaning she understands that legalized abortions have a sad and unfortunate place in society and need to be regulated appropriately for health and safety. She doesn’t sit and laugh and plot to abort babies. Get a clue. She has never said willy-nilly, free as fudge, “open borders.” She has said that immigration reform should create a pathway to citizenship and keep our country safe with greater scrutiny. She did not say she would deny fellow human beings help at a time when innocent people are dying. Imagine that was you. So, say what you will about Hillary Clinton, but she has spoken transparently, with reason, evidence, and guess what, she’s human, too.

Look at yourself in the mirror – and if you are a Christian, be careful where you are casting your first stone. People argue that she is corrupt, a liar, and money-hungry. Well, if you are religious, guess what? So is your faith. Religion is, and has been, filled for thousands of years with corruption, secrecy, avarice, and harm, under the guise of something good. Believe what you will, but your belief in something doesn’t mean it’s true. This includes what you have read and heard about Hillary Clinton versus taking the time to explore both candidates, their party platforms, and their representation as the possible next President of the United States.

The GOP platform clearly states a movement and focus on returning to family values. In case you are a complete idiot, this means overturning marriage equality that the Supreme Court assures us is protected by the 14th Amendment.  It doesn’t matter if your bible says it shouldn’t be, because again, guess what, your bible says a lot of stuff. Open it and read it, and then tell me again why a few words out of thousands and thousands should dictate human rights? Scientific evidence, the same science that dyes your hair and medicates you when you’re sick, has shown that being gay is not a choice. I mean seriously, who would choose a life of such outright discrimination, judgmental scrutiny, and inequality. I’m proud to be me. I’m happy to be here. I live with an honest, compassionate heart and a hardworking, visionary work ethic. I’m just human. Each day I try to be better. Each day I try to make others feel happy to be here, too.  Donald Trump does not do that by any way, shape, or form. I still believe this is all an elaborate and clever ruse to elect our first female, most qualified President at this point in human existence. Ultimately, it’s for the greater good.

We need to start acting more like humans and less like selfish, deluded people who support Trump’s divisively inappropriate and unreasonable rhetoric.  Build a wall? That’s the solution? What? OMG. How can anyone take that seriously? Let’s think about it, people. First, Mexico isn’t paying for it. Secondly, there is going to be a 75 mile gap because, big shocker, Native Americans do not want it built on their land.  Also, there are a lot of ways to get into America besides the U.S./Mexico border. So, right there, say what you will about Hillary, but Trump is irrational and without reason. A 5 year old could make the same claim. If a candidate said, “We’re building a big dome over America!! We kick out who doesn’t need to be here, and we keep Americans who bleed red, white, and blue in the name of Jesus, the unborn, our soldiers, little American flags, and apple pie.” Would you believe that, you know, just because the candidate hit on some trigger words for you? Do you realize we, as citizens, would need a lot of information about this dome before understanding if it were even possible. He wants to ban Muslims. What? You can’t ban a religion. It just doesn’t make sense. There are Italian Muslims, Hawaiian Muslims, good Muslims, who are like good Christians, Jews, and every other religion out there. That’s why it doesn’t make sense. Do you get that? If we were at war with Finland, it would make sense to say, “No one from Finland can enter the U.S.” Thank you, Alien and Sedition Acts.

Finally, his behavior. It’s not appropriate to act immaturely and treat speeches and rallies like WWE smack-downs. He ignites narrow mindedness and appeals to what would best be described as the Walmart Demographic (or as HRC said, the Deplorables). After this is over, get ready for the biggest brand this country has seen. TRUMP! Not just hotels and casinos, steaks and schools, but perhaps a direct competitor to Fox News and Walmart, both of which are HUGE, money-making brands to a demographic that, well, let’s just say they love Jesus and oppressing others.

If you haven’t noticed, elections are number games. I think Donald Trump is playing the greatest reality role of his life, and for all you out there that ‘believe reality television,’ think again. It’s choreographed. Planned out. Statistically researched. Before the campaigns began, there is enough information from Google searches and IP addresses to know how many people would likely vote for Trump. It’s not as large as a percentage as you might think or the polls indicate. Nonetheless, the powers that be knew that a character like Trump would never be accepted by rational, intellectual citizens, and would ensure HRC’s entry into the White House. The numbers would potentially need to be fudged if she were running against Romney or McCain. They would win. They needed someone who doesn’t care what he says or the consequence, and who knows how to further sky-rocket a brand amidst such deplorable behavior. On Wednesday, they will have the numbers and backing to both validate the results and refute any dialogue about a rigged system. I support Hillary Clinton. I give her credit. In my lifetime I have NEVER seen a Presidential candidate under such scrutiny. And it’s no surprise in this misogynistic world that is now starting to change. Thank the Universe.
